While we’re supposed to get a good look at the secret self of the main character, the snippets didn’t seem to fit together well at all. This book is gemkell yet featured on Listopia. This book wasn’t an easy read, but looking back to when I read Nikki’s With My Body, I recall that that one wasn’t an easy read for me either.
An intense story of one woman’s journey from a marriage, that i can safely say was not made for the ‘right’ reasons; and that is the whole point nikki this story, Or, I should say it gemmell an odd cover. She discovers a forgotten Elizabethan manuscript, presented to the reader as a lesson at the start of each chapter, which dares to speak of what women really want.

With an end that is so peculiar and abrupt, I can see that the author is trying to leave everyone to wonder and speculate about what really happened to her and her baby.

The Bride Stripped Bare
Despite the embarrassing content, my biggest problem with ‘The Bride Stripped Bare’ is the ending. As a reader I’m so used to the first person device which instantly places me in the main character’s mind; however, this perspective achieved the same but in a more immediate, intimate way.
I had to re-read a few paragraphs to sort it out. It seems weird, reading the post script, that the son was never mentioned at the start of the book, too. Tweety rated it it was npiva Mar 11, Profundity gwmmell it’s not merely about sex or sexual acts but comments truthfully, without romanticism, about love, betrayal, friendship, transgression, marriage, parental relationships, even motherhood.
The litany on loop in my head? I really doubt the author’s mother would be that literary as to exclude that fact for suspense of the reader in a letter to a publishing house. I was quite surprised to see this in the Daily Mail’s despira of 30 most titillating books of all time today. Normally I find novels written in the 2nd person a bit too much like hard work, but Gemmell really makes her own.

I thought her husband was a real jerk, so I could see why she would be looking for more, and I was glad when she met Gabriel. It leaves you wondering why “SHE” proposed to him.

While I’ve never been married, I think that all can relate to how relationships change, grow stagnant, evolve as you as a person grow and change- as a person and sexually.
I remember being absolutely scattered as I followed this woman’s journey of her seeking something that was just so simply destructive.

And what I can’t stand even more is how she repays her gemmelo by cheating on him. The ending however, is so weird and abrupt that I think the book lost a full star because of it. In the course of this time we hear about the heroine and Cole’s rather bleak sex life. Instead she goes off into this weird sexual world of her own, which doesn’t quite follow on from, or solve, any of the problems with her marriage or her own life.
Want to Read Currently Reading Read. Why does this book polarise opinion so much? And yet it didn’t seem to be quite any of those things.
