In this aftter, a teen girl Devon was in such denial about the fact that she’d had sex that she couldn’t even allow the possibility of pregnancy to enter her mind.

However, I will say that I actually really enjoyed this book and I found myself feeling really bad for Devon even though what she did was horrible. Devon has just given birth; the baby in the trash is hers. I have got to stop choosing books based on NPR reviews. The reader witnesses Devon’s story unfold piece by piece, almost as if we are understanding what transpired at the same time Devon does.
