Just one tiny detail out of many: One can expect that there will be puzzles to be solved and mysteries within mysteries. Even so, I suspect this theological critique is probably a bit over-the-top when you consider that this book is just a work of adventure fantasy.

Langdon is instantly plunged into a clandestine world of Masonic secrets, hidden history, and never-before-seen locations—all of which seem to be dragging him toward a single, inconceivable truth. I like his writing style, how his books are layered with codes and mysteries, and how they’re so fast-paced they make my heart beat faster because I feel pulled into the stories and into the lives of his characters.
Robert Langdon 5 books. It took me a bit longer to finish this book then I expected, but I am so glad that Broen read it. When Brown comes to write his next thriller, even if it features Robert Langdon, I hope it treads new territory. The rest of them are just inane letdowns.

It’s a completely improbable plot mixed with even more improbable character developments and plot twists.
There was a different type of emotional connection given Langdon’s friendship with the kidnapped mentor. So pay no attention to the coded mysteries behind the curtain.
