I like Dan Millman’s writing style, and from the books of his that I’ve read, he has a good flow, never can too slow at any point. From the heights of love to the depths of despair, from the threat of a mortal enemy to the search for a child he has never met, Sergei Ivanov’s odyssey unlocks hidden wisdom at the heart of life. Fantastic Story I was totally captivated by this book.

Even if one is not so inclined to believe the spiritual principles presented within, the story line is gripping and a good read in and of itself. The Mirror Crack’d from Side to Side. This will involve a radical inner leap from the current egoic consciousness to an entirely new one. Anyone who enjoys personal transformation, th stories, and fascinating characters will really treasure this read. For obvious reasons I am not divulging everything but suffice it to say you’ll be surprised, horrified, entertained, and inspired by the end of the book.

Siddhartha goes through a series of changes and realizations as he attempts to achieve this goal. It’s a very wise but painful lesson. The beginning tells the history of Socrates and at first I didn’t see the relevance and wondered where “the good stuff” was; I later realized that this history was a key part of understanding Socrates, where he’d come from and what he overcame to become the person he was at the end of the book.
