So, the story is set in two parts, both equally horrendous. Honestly don’t care about this book enough to write a proper review. I found this story extremely boring despite being less than pages long.

One of the good things about this experience is that it conditioned me to a suspension of disbelief when it comes to improbable tales of misbehaviour by nuns – but this tale is a bit much, even for me.

The main character, Sainte Suzanne is a young girl who is forced into the convent by her parents. There were no chapters, which really bothered me for some reason.

In fact, her way of manipulating the discourse is pretty phenomenal and perhaps one of the few redeemable things about this book. Most notably, all men are portrayed in a better light than women, except for Suzanne’s adoptive and biological father, respectively.

She has commited all sort of sacrileges through the whole book, but oh, that doesn’t seem to matter really.
